Well, I did watch "Road to Platinum" and I must say that Shad.. is a hot head but he has reason. Respect is a big component in the enterainment world and if you are made of a joke by "supports" then that's going to make the listeners view you as the same way. Ya'll came out young so of course people are still going to look at you that way... also understanding that it's gon' take more than this collabo to change that. Everyone has this image that to be a rapper you have to be "hard-core" and for you to have this label as a "grown ass man" you have to have had a stuggle, in other words you have to show a hustle. I know that ya'll hustled but it's a different kind of hustle. Most rappers are found hustling in the street and most singers were just found upon cause they don' made they own music or some kind of competition, somewhere along those lines. A lot of them talk about what they had to do and how they suffered, all kinds of BS. That gives them a bond with their fans. No offense but right now you both have mostly chicks for fans, nothing wrong with that, ya'll look good, ya'll young and... look good [smiling], so there's no problem there. The thing is that there is no sign of a hustle outside of the entertainment industry, not the kind
that appeals to young men. You need a "life" hustle, what have you been through in life, what did you have to do to get where you are now? Provide the hustle, get the respect! I'm not saying change who you are but now it's like if it's not club music then not too many people care which is ridiculous. And you're an R&B guy it's hard on you no matter which way you look at it. A lot of dudes feel threatened when another man is basically singing to their woman, I know cause I had one!
After hearing how ya'll felt about going to award ceramonies, I had to state my piece cause no one should feel like that. Lke a "nobody" especially when you are an recording artist. It's a question of "what the hell am I doing this for?". You're not appreciated and this is where it should stop. You should do a single together, an exclusive, get whatever it is off your chest and let that s*** be heard cause it ain't about these who got something to say. It's about Omari and Shad, just let that s*** rip, no holding back, no BS. Omari, you can rap and sing, do what you do best cause ain't nothing handed to you, ya'll know that! [I'm watching "Doug", I know you remember that!] But anyway, that's opinion!
Some things on my chest.. gotta get'em off!
